MEET A MEMBER MONDAY
Every Monday we post a member profile, they may be a player, coach, team manager, volunteer or comittee member, to make it easier for everyone to put names to faces at the club!
This week's golden boy is David Snaith, a face who many will recognise around the club.
Name: David Snaith
Positions: Wing, fullback and onside centre. Snaithy is also an avid volunteer for the club and his help is always massively appreciated by all.
How many years at Penrith RUFC: Snaithy started playing rugby at age 11 for UCC and has played every year since. Snaithy has managed to score a try every year, since the age of 11 with his most recent try being scored against Wigton at 60 years old, when playing for the A team.
What does he love most about Penrith RUFC: "The club has always been a huge part of my life. I love every part of the club. It has become a massive family club, its great how involved everyone is from mini rugby right the way through to the senior teams. I love the people, because its the people that make the club. The club is like my second home." (Can you tell we conducted this interview when slightly merry?)
What does he want to see Penrith RUFC achieve in the next season of rugby: "I'd love to see three senior teams again and a promotion for the first team".
Snaithy also wanted to mention that he loves the weekly game of touch rugby which is held at the club on Monday evenings 6pm - 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome and he'd love to encourage anyone who is considering it, to give it a go! All abilities welcome (when we're back open and touch rugby is running again)!
