MEET A MEMBER MONDAY
Every Monday we post a club member profile, they may be a player, coach, team manager or committee member, to make it easier to put names to faces when you're at the club!
This week we have Charlotte, who is in charge of organising all of the youth fixtures for our extensive youth section of over 250 players!
Name: Charlotte Tweddle
Position: Youth Fixtures Secretary - a challenging job managing 11+ teams each week, arranging their fixtures and festivals! Although some say a difficult job, Charlotte really enjoys it and says that the AGP is a lifesaver when it comes to last minute cancellation of games due to flooded pitches elsewhere.
How many years at Penrith RUFC: Charlotte has been involved with the club since the boys, Oscar and Reuben, started playing as U7s and they are now in the U11 and U10s teams. Before the boys started at Penrith RUFC, she was more of a rugby league supporter, but of course has seen the error of her ways...
What does she love most about Penrith RUFC: SUNDAYS! When youth matches are played! She loves to watch her boys play and to see how far they have progressed, thanks to their coaches, Mark Bowman, Andrew Turnbull, Joe Brown and Tom Dawson. On behalf of all parents of U10s and U11s, she says they’re all extremely grateful of how much of their time they all give to the club!
What does he want to see Penrith RUFC achieve in the next season of rugby: "A full and varied fixtures list, with no amendments or cancellations!"
Youth Rugby Director, Gary Atkinson, shared a few kind words for Charlotte. Gary describes Charlotte as the youth section’s “life-line” and “unsung hero”.
He says “since taking on the Youth Fixtures Secretary role early 2019, Charlotte has embraced every aspect of the job; faultless communication, new avenues explored (new clubs for us to play) and a real empathy/understanding for youth rugby core values”.
A massive thank you to Charlotte Tweddle for her commitment to the club and the wonderful job that she does for our youth section.
