This week we’re focussing on club Chairman and long time Penrith RUFC member, Geoff Matthews. We’re sure you will have seen Geoff’s face around the club many times and many will know him as a great friend.

Name: Geoff Matthews

Positions: Current Penrith RUFC Chairman, previously Vagabonds Captain for many years, youth coach, referee coach and assessor, committee member and past club President and Chairman since around 2012/2013!

How many years at Penrith RUFC: Geoff has been involved with Penrith RUFC since 1973.

What does he love most about Penrith RUFC: "The whole camaraderie through all the teams and supporters.”

What does he want to see Penrith RUFC achieve in the next season of rugby: "Continued enthusiasm and development of the youth teams so they can develop into senior players at entry level.”

Geoff's contributions to the club are immesurable and certainly do not go unnoticed. We're grateful to have such a forward-thinking, open-minded Chairman to lead this club!
