Deepest Condolences to Gwen & Family from all at Penrith RUFC

It is with much regret that we learn of the passing of David Coulston who played for the Club in the 1950s.
Deepest sympathy to Gwen and family at this sad time.

David first played as a 16 year old for the seconds in 1952. This was in the days when the Foundry field was being developed and the players changed behind the Gloucester Arms with the game taking place over in Gilwilly.
He played most of his rugby for the RAF and on his return secured a place in the 1st team.
David's work took him to Lancashire where he spent a couple of years playing for Blackburn.
Injury cut short his playing career but this meant he was able to concentrate more on his work which in turn culminated in David & Gwen forming a business that more than 50 years later is now one of the North West's major suppliers to the hospitality industry.

David, passed to the great rugby field on 18th December at the age of 88.
A service of thanksgiving will take place at Longridge Cricket Club, on Friday, 10th January, 2025, at 3pm, following a private family committal at Preston Crematorium. Family flowers only please, donations if so desired, to Addison's self help group or Rosemere Cancer Foundation. All enquiries to William Houghton Funeral Directors, Chapel Hill, Longridge.
